      Mrs. Dora Dorfshaffer: Mrs. Dora L. Dorfshaffer, 78, died Tuesday afternoon in the St. Joseph Hospital in Larned. She had made her home at the Hammond - Holiday Rest Home for the past 11 years. Mrs. Dorfshaffer was born Feb. 25, 1891 at English, Ind., and came with her parents to Great Bend as a small girl. She married Charles S. Dorfshaffer May 28, 1913 in Great Bend. He died Dec. 14, 1957. She was a member of the Congregational Church, charter member of Fort Zarah EHU, Order of Eastern Star and the Beauceant.

      Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Wilmer (Leah) Otte, Rt. 1; Mrs. Fritz (Bernice) Essmiller, Rt. 4; Mrs. Lee (Helen) Bird, Liberal; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Hanson of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Robert (Alice) Blackburn of Scottsdale, Ariz.; brother, E. K. Roberson of Larned; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the Cook and Weber Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph R. Bogle officiating. Burial will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to the church. Friends may call at the funeral home until service time. The casket will not be opened after the services.
