The funeral of Luther Benham, killed in an accident at the Enlow saw mill near Skelton (Indiana) on Labor Day, was held from the residence near Grand Rapids in Knox county, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 - The services were conducted by Rev. J. D. Shaddrick, of Mount Carmel M. E. church, assisted by the pastor at Scott's Chapel. A large number of friends and relatives of the deceased attended the obsequies.
Burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery, Mount Carmel, and the following gentlemen acted as pall bearers Messrs Tony Smith, Frank Orr, Jas McCard, Harry Cunningham, R. F. Tollison, and John Homer Bruce. Flower girls were Misses Claire Havill, Grace Storckman, Fern Orr, Pauline, Marie and Wilhelmma Steckler.

Luther Benham was born in Crawford county, Indiana, Sept 1, 1869. He was the son of David and Minerva Benham. To their union were born eight children, four boys and five girls. The father and one brother, Jesse, having died some years ago. Those surviving are: Mrs. J. R. Lyons, of West Fork, Ind.; Mrs. Edward Hedden, of Florida; Mrs. C. A. Robinson, of McMann, Okla.; Mrs. Eva Orr; Mrs. Craig and Charles Benham, of Mount Carmel.
Luther Benham and Elcissa (sic, should be Elcista) Landiss were married July 22, 1889, and seven children were born to them; Mrs. Frank Geddis (sic, should be Geddes), of Princeton, Ind.; Nolen, Corbin, Beryl, Ray and Doris May, of Mt. Carmel; also two grandchildren, Ernest Vaughn Geddes and Harrell Nolen Benham. His father, one brother and one child passed before. His mother, relatives and friends are left to mourn their loss. Mr. Benham was converted in January 1914 at Scott's Chapel, and joined the M. E. church and lived a devoted Christian life, loved the church, obtained the experiences of holiness, and lived to honor and glorify his Savior. He was always ready to do a kind act or say a cheerful word to those around him; a loving companion, kind and affectionate father.
