William (Jr.), brother of Joseph, was born ca.1762, NC, and died in Shelby Co., KY. He and his wife, Fanny, were the parents of Sally Lacefield, who married Henry SKAGGS (s/o Longhunter Richard SKAGGS) in 1797, Green Co., KY.
Of course, many of the PHELPS and SKAGGS families were known Patriots, so it is quite interesting that children of the LACEFIELD/LASSWELL family, convicted Traitors, married into these families. Perhaps this speaks to our ancestors' capacity to forgive those of different political views after the war of independence, or even the progressive viewpoints of Kentuckians.
