I would love to meet you in West Salem for at least one day of the Sept 30-Oct 1-Oct 2 timespan. The trouble is that we are leaving for a two week vacation the following week and I will have to be super prepared to pass the wifely inspection. I will be back with you regarding West Salem. Speaking of West Salem, my grandfather Aubrey Lunsford Yates and grandmother Emily McLain (sp?) Yates are buried there and West Salem is the site of the Chowder which hosted one of our last Yates reunions back in the early 1960s. We have few or no old photos pre-1937 because my grandfather and grandmother were in Paducah, KY for the Ohio River Flood of 1937 and lost everything except their lives and the clothes on their backs in the flood. That is one reason that I love your photo at Grantsburg. We simply have nothing like it. Maybe of interest to you is that my uncle Harold Aubrey Yates and aunt Ruth L. Yates Collier are still alive and might still be a source of good information for you. Uncle Harold (Bud) lives in Richland Center, Wisconsin and Aunt Ruth lives in Columbus, IN. They are 88 and 90 years old respectively. Uncle Bud has yet another John Yates for a son. John lives here in Indianapolis. Paul T. (Tom) Johnson
