      Clements Funeral Set for Tomorrow

By ANNE KNIGHT Living Today Editor Lake City Reporter May 20, 1982

Memorial services for Captain Michael R. Clements will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. Carl Shafer will officiate at the military service assisted by James Montgomery. Clements was killed in an airplane accident in Arkansas on May 12 while on an Air Force training mission. He was a Columbia High School basketball star and graduated in 1966 from CHS and in 1971 from Florida State University where he was a Sigma Chi. Clements and Barbara Alexander were married in 1973 after he entered the U. S. Air Force in 1972. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War. Clements was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lake City and the Lakeword Untied Methodist Church in North Little Rock, Ark. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Melissa Courtney and Casey Michelle; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Clements and his sister Cherilyn Moses.

Internment will be at Mikesville Presbyterian Cemetery. The family requests that memorials to Captain Clements be sent to the Michael R. Clements Memorial Fund which will be used to help needy families of air force personnel. He was concerned that junior airmen didn't have enough money for things their children needed so Mrs. Clements established this fund in his memory. Please make checks payable to Mrs. Michael R. Clements and mark them for the "Michael R. Clements Memorial Fund" and send them to 1959 Castle Heights Drive, in Lake City.
