- Bolivar Free Press, 17 Mar 1993; MILDRED GARRETT; Mildred Garrett, 91, of Route 1, Walnut Grove, died in the Parkview Health Care Facility in Bolivar Wednesday, March 10, 1993, after a short illness. She was the widow of Clyde Garrett, who died in 1990, and was a former longtime resident of the Cliquot community in Polk County. She was a member of the Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors are two daughters, Joanna White of Walnut Grove and Mary E. Garrett of Bolivar; one son, George C. Garrett of Bolivar; two brothers, Keim Klingman of Springfield and Ray Klingman of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 14, in Pitts Chapel with the Rev. Pete Davison officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery at Cliquot. Music was by Donna and Andy Upchurch. Pallbearers were Darrell White, Wayne Garrett, Mark Garrett, and Mike Garrett.
