Mr. Klingman died Friday night in Lake Charles. He had been ill for 6 months. He was 59.
He was born in Greenville, a son of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Klingman Sr. and lived most of his life here.
He received his education in the Greenville public schools and at University of Mississippi where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was an outstanding football player at Greenville High and later a member of the Ole Miss squad.
He was a veteran of World War 1.
He was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church.

He left Greenville in 1947 with his family to make their home in California. Later they moved to Lake Charles where he was engaged in the laundry business at the time of his death.

Hill, Edward B., $8000, 31, married at 22, MS, Commercial Traveler, Groceries & Foods, veteran of the WW; Alice K., 28, 19, MS; Edward B. Jr., 5, MS; William K., 3, MS.

My guess is that they were separated or divorced in about 1938. Edward's obituary say he moved to Merigold 27 years before his death in 1965. He is not mentioned in her obituary. In several newspaper articles about their son in the war or the children being married, they are said to be the children of Alice, but omit any mention of Edward. A November 1944 article says that Edward Jr. was the son of Alice K. Hill of Cleveland and Ed B. Hill of Merigold.
