Ron Yates reports that Bennett Curl had three children, Richard, Samuel and Nancy. I was just searching census records in Indiana for Nancy Curl who married Coleman Green. I found Coleman Green on the 1830 census in the same County in Indiana as Richard Curl is seen in 1840. I just tried to see if Richard Curl was in Harrison County in 1830 and guess who I found?!!!!!!
The census page is attached. Look at the 18th entry.
This means that indeed Bennett Curl and Ezabella Binns are the likely parents for Richard, Samuel and Nancy. I also believe that John Bennett Curl is another son of Bennett Curl and Ezabella Binns. It is likely that Bennett Curl died in Harrison County, as Ron has reported in his family tree. This would mean that Ezabella Binns Curl went to live with John B. Curl in Adams County, Illinois after Bennett Curl died. We know Ezabella died in 1837 and that she is buried in Pleasant View Cemetery which was on land that John B. Curl donated for a church and cemetery.
Nancy Curl married Coleman Green 09 Dec 1827, so that would infer that Bennett Curl moved to Indiana before Dec. 1827. Next we see Bennet Curl in Corydon, Harrison Co., Indiana on the 1830 census.
John Bennet Curl was still very involved with his work as a minister in Jefferson county, Kentucky about 1827. He did not move to Adams Co., Illinois until the fall of 1830. I feel we can conclude that Bennett Curl died between 1830 and 1837.
I may have been wrong about the date of death for Bennett Curl. The attached census for Richard Curl shows a male age 70-79 in this home in 1840. That could be Bennett Curl. I still believe that Bennett Curl and Ezabella could be in the home of John B,. Curl in 1820 in Jefferson Co., Kentucky. I will attach a copy of that page too.
