Paul Louis Scott, 87, Grantsburg, died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at 11:02 p.m. at Bloomington Hospital. Born June 30, 1919, in Grantsburg, he was the son of the late Eddie and Iva Sturgeon Scott.
He worked in a furniture factory, attended Grantsburg Community Church, was a charter member of English VFW Post 6160 and was active in English Senior Citizens.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Nolan Scott; two sisters, Beulah Gwaltney and Pauline Sweepy; and a grandson, Sgt. Christopher Hilgert.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, the former Erma Mills; a son, Richard Scott of English; a daughter, Barbara Rider of New Albany; a brother, Woodrow Scott of Leavenworth; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Wednesday, June 20, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Union Chapel Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 6160.
Officiant: The Rev. Paul Mills.
Pallbearers: Shawn Scott, Michael Howerton, Earl Hilgert, Chuck Hilgert, Ben Fee and Michael Reese. (thecorydondemocrat)
