  Esther M. Yates was born February 28, 1928 in Paris, Illinois. She was the daughter of Howard and Pearl Griffith Hollingsworth. Esther passed away at 6:45 a.m. on February 7, 1991 at USMC, Logan Campus, Danivlle, Illinois. She was married April 4, 1947 in Chrisman, Illinois to John R. Yates. She has two surviving daughters, Linda Van Horn of Indianapolis and Brenda Johnson (Robert) of Williamsport, Indiana; three brothers Roy and Rex of Portland Oregon and James of Vancouver, Washington; one half brother Danny Hollingsworth of Danville and two half-sisters Ruth Burkey and Nancy Grider. Four grandchildren, Genie and John Davies and Jason and Brandi Moore and step-mother Bernice Hollingsworth. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday February 9 at Scott-Bolen Funeral Home in Chrisman. Officiating was Rev. Joe Techau.
