Notes - From the Terre Haute Tribune, Sunday, November 21, 1943: "Elsie May Harris, 49 years old, 2832 South Eighth street, died at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Union Hospital. She is survived by the husband, Otto; three sons, Elzy of the United States Army, William and Robert of Terre Haute; two daughters, Mr. Alberta Charters and Mrs. Alma Rankin, both of Terre Haute; one brother, Delbert Laswell of Dennison, Ill.; one half-brother, Sharon {Sharon) Lowe, of Mt. Carmel, Ill.; one half-sister, Mrs. Nadine Manion, of Mattoon, Ill.; the father, Peter Laswell, of Terre Haute, and the mother, Mrs. Grace Lowe, of Mt. Carmel. The body was removed to the Gillis Memory Chapel and will be returned to the residence at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Services will be held at the residence at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The place of burial will be announced later." The Tribune announced on Monday, November 22, 1943 that the burial was to take place in Grandview Cemetery.
