- Betty Lou Seaton; (March 18, 1937 - March 30, 2012); Betty Lou (Deal) Seaton of Mt Carmel, IL, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care in Mt Carmel.
Betty was born on March the 18th1937 in Princeton, IN; the daughter of Vivian (BIB) Deal and Marion Louise Terry. On September 18th 1959 she married Elmer Leo Seaton in Mt Carmel and he survives.
Betty is survived by son Mark (Tammy) Seaton of Mt. Carmel; son Richard (Cheri) Seaton of Evansville, IN. Betty also has four grandchildren Amber (Wayne) Hammel and Amanda Seaton (Josh Howard), all of Mt Carmel, and Corey Seaton and Logan Seaton of Evansville IN. There was also one very special great granddaughter Brynlee Renee Hammel. She is also survived by a sister Joyce (Jerry) Leister of Clinton, IN. Betty also has a Brother in law Clayton (Janet) Seaton of Allendale , Sisters in law Helen Seaton ,Frankie Seaton, Shirley (Frank) Glenn, and Evelyn (Larry) Vickers all of Mt Carmel. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Dorothy Goodman of Evansville, IN.
Betty worked for Ivalu's restaurant as a cook, also as manager for Tupperware sales. But the job she loved the most was that of a loving housewife. Betty was well known for her homemade pies and homemade candy. She was also an avid salt and pepper shaker collector and in the recent years made a trip to the salt and pepper museum in Pigeon Forge, TN. Betty also was a very good fisherman who would sure let you know if her fish was bigger than yours. Preceding her in death were her parents, a son Melvin Michael Seaton, and brothers in law Cedric, Robert (Bob), And Nova Seaton, and a sister in law Oma Seaton. Funeral service will be 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the chapel of Short Funeral Home with burial at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Carmel.
