    • DONALD WALTER PFIRMAN, SR., of Egg Harbor City passed away peacefully on July 8, 2014 surrounded by his family.

      Don was born and raised in Northfield, NJ. Don graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1956 where he was a two time all American in football. After graduation he joined the United States Coast Guard and was stationed in Cape May, NJ. Don was employed for over 20 years with Lenox China, owned a deli in Pensacola, Fl and then retired as a cook from Tropicana casino.He was very involved in youth sports and coached EHT Orioles football and Pleasantwoods little league for years and could always be found on the sidelines of his grandchildren's school activities and sporting events.

      Don is survived by his three children: Donald Walter Pfirman Jr. of Egg Harbor City, Donna Pfirman Heist (husband Gary) of Egg Harbor City, and Steven Phirman of Hammonton, seven grandchildren: Kristen, Jason, Jordan, Katie, Donald, Quinn and Courtney,and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving sisters Frances Velez, Nancy Monroe, Carole Hackett and his brother Robert Pfirman and many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his mother Amelia, his sister Jane Humphrey and his brothers Melvin and Kenneth Pfirman. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and was always there for the people he loved and he expected nothing in return. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

      Visitation will be held on Monday July 14, 2014 from 9:00am to 12:00 noon at SARACENO FUNERAL HOME, 1114 White Horse Pike, Egg Harbor City, NJ . A service will begin at noon and an interment will follow at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery in Estell Manor.
