    • Capt Mahlon Canfield Frambes, I Birth: Jan. 10, 1829 Bargaintown Atlantic County New Jersey, USA Death: Dec. 20, 1910 Atlantic City Atlantic County New Jersey, USA CAPT. MALIN FRAMBES, OLD MERCHANT, DEAD Former Owner of Somers Lumber Mill Dies in December, Same Month Which Claimed Three Members of Family Captain Malin Frambes, father-in-law of H. H. Smith, Jr., of H. H. Smith & Sons, Atlantic avenue bakers, died at 5 o'clock yesterday morning at the Sanitarium of Dr. Emery Marvel. He was 82 years of age. The Captain's death removes the last of a noted county family. It is a peculiar coincidence that four members of the family had died in the month of December. Mrs. Frambes died December 12th, two years ago. Sarah E., a daughter of the Captain's in December 14 years ago, and Lizzie E., another daughter, in December, 13 years ago. Captain Frambes had lived all his life in Atlantic county, being born in the Frambes homestead at Bargaintown, N. J. Four years ago he had a residence in Atlantic City erecting the cottage now occupied by Dr. Davis at 1721 Pacific avenue. He had been seriously ill for about six weeks and was removed to the sanitarium here about two weeks ago. Source: undated obituary found among the papers of Mrs. James Henry Mason II.
