  Birth: Feb. 24, 1910 Hardin County Kentucky, USA Death: Aug. 3, 2004 YATES, KATIE , 94, of Louisville, died Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at Summerfield Manor Nursing Home. She was a native of Hardin County, KY, and a member of Chapel Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and loved birds and wildlife. She also volunteered at Shively Area Ministries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gola E. Yates; a son, Eugene Williams; a stepdaughter, Louise Allen; stepsons, Bud and Harold Yates; a granddaughter, Kim Graham; and two sisters, Ethel Russell and Ruby Jones. She is survived by two sons, William R. (Carol) and Carl L. (Judy) Yates; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Chapel Park Baptist Church.
