Gertrude May Shaw was born in Shelbyville August 12, 1903, a daughter of Emmett and Nora Shaw. On March 18, 1921, she was united in marriage with Varney Griffin, and to this union one child was born, Robert Griffin. Surviving besides the husband, son and parents were two brothers, Vernie and Harry Shaw. Funeral services were held from the family home, Rev. Emmerson of the Christian Church officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.
