      Sgt William J. Seed Birth: unknown Death: May 9, 1882 Civil War Union Army Soldier. He was mustered in as a Corporal in Company A, 23rd New Jersey Volunteer Infantry on September 13, 1862 (New Jersey Adjutant General records lists him as "William Seeds"). Promoted to Sergeant on December 1, 1862, he served through the December 1862 Fredericksburg Campaign, and the May 1863 Chancellorsville Campaign, and was honorably mustered out on June 27, 1863. On January 6, 1892 his wife, Annie Seed, filed for a US Army Widow’s Pension (Application #537472, Certificate #370960, Pennsylvania). She resided on Natchez Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, circa 1890.
