  • Notes
    • Sylvia is third over with her sisters; Maggie 1874-1969; Lucinda "Sin" 1876-1961; Martha Jane 1881-1965; Ida May 1881-1964: Sylvia Ethel 1887-1981.

She cried when I gave her a copy of her family tree. Being the youngest much of that information she never knew.

In fact was raised by her older sisters, as she was only 4 1/2 yrs old when her mother Peggy (Whitley) Daily died; but her father didn't die till 1919 so she was 32 when he died.

He moved down to West Salem where he bought the farm that was Paul Strine's homestead in the early yrs.

It was bought by George Strine (Sylvia's husband) and he lost it in depression but his dad, James paid off the mortgage. That made him owner of the farm.

So the Strine boys had to buy the farm off of Elizabeth (Weyl) Strine after her husband, James Strine died. [SOURCE: From: Kathy Strine Sent: Monday, February 10, 2014 Ron Yates ]
