    • Basil F. Brown; Basil F. (Brownie) Brown, 93, Corydon, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at his home. Born Oct. 17, 1919, in Crawford County, he was the son of the late Seldon C. and Sylvia Goodson Brown. He was retired from E.I. Dupont Chemical Co. in Louisville, a member of Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon, Milltown Masonic Lodge No. 661, Old Capitol Order of the Eastern Star No. 467 and Scottish Rite Valley of Evansville and an Army veteran of World War II.

      Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Hallmark, and two brothers, Nolan and Robert G. Brown. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, the former Olive Marie Byrd; two sons, Anthony Brown of English and Carey Brown of Georgetown; a sister, Wilma Jean Sullivan of English; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

      Visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 3 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7, and Thursday, Jan. 3, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Coryon. Funeral: Thursday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in El Bethel Cemetery near Marengo. Officiant: The Rev. Andy Hansen.
