According to the minutes of the New Garden MM, the membership of minors Patrick and Enos Yates was received there from West Grove MM on 24 October 1818.
In the minutes of the Milford MM, Indiana Quaker records as published by Willard Heiss, on 16 September 1824, Patrick was expelled from membership for "using profane language and offering to fight".

"The following stones wre found near the intersectin of Wabash County Road 600W and the Kosciusko County line. They are in Seward Townshup [sic] on the farm of
Zenni Reed under a large hard maple tree in the Reed barnyard.

2. YATES, Mary, wife of Patrick, died 7 July 1859, age 51-1-24

Patrick Yates was an early landowner in Pleasant Township, Wabash County, Indiana. Other Yates stones can be found in the South Pleasant Cemetery, Pleasant Township, Wabash County." Binner, Lester H. Kosciusko County, Indiana Cemetery Records Volume I Franklin & Seward Townships, 1999, p. 76.
In Zimri Hanson's History and Genealogy of the American Descendants of John and Ann Chamness of London, England, 1922, Patrick is identified by the surname "Gates", an apparent typo.
