- Nancy Jane Asbury Lewis was born near Mosby Clay County, Mo. in the year of 1866. And passed away Oct. 13 1926 at the age of 60 years 1 month and 21 days. Her death occured very suddendly, which was a great shock to the family and community.
She had been a faithful member of the Methodist church for a number of years. She was united in marriage to Robert C. Lewis Oct. 9 1844. They moved to this county in the year of 1903, where they have since made their home on a farm 7 miles north east of Leeton.
Her companion proceeded her in death Dec. 4, 1924. To this union eight children were born; Oscar Lewis of near Burtville, Archie Lewis of Pullman, Wash., Albert Lewis of Mankto Kans., Mrs. Jessie Ward of Warrensburg, Mrs. Clifford Lockard of Warrensburge, Elmer, Floyd and Leslie at home. Fifteen grandchildren, two brothers and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday with Rev. E. B. Shaw in charge. Burial in the Mineral creek cemetary.
