PAUL H. LEWSADER 78, of Chrisman, died at 11:27 p.m. Tuesday (Aug. 23, 2005) at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Danville. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 27) at the Sutton & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Black officiating. Burial in Hoult Cemetery will be accompanied by military graveside rites provided by American Legion Post #477.
Mr. Lewsader was born May 16, 1927, in Edgar County, the son of Joseph Lewsader and Ruth Ann Kennedy Lewsader. He married Martha Joan Henry on Sept. 18, 1948, at Paris. She died May 31, 2001. He later married Marjorie Mae Yates on Feb. 6, 2002, at Paris, and she survives. He is also survived by three sons, Larry Lewsader and Rick Lewsader, both of Chrisman and Dennis Lewsader of Paris; two stepsons, William Harvey of Chrisman and Robert Harvey of Ridge Farm; one daughter, Cathy Lewsader of Maroa; three stepdaughters, Janet Haladay of Columbia, S.C., Gloria Henry and Lisa Wheeler, both of Chrisman; one sister, Buelah Thomas of Ridge Farm; 10 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Lewsader was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and served as a military policeman. He was a member of the Chrisman American Legion Post 477. He served on the P.T.A. board and the Hoult Cemetery Board.
