    • Oscar Edward Yates, 93, Cunningham, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at his residence. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Sykes Funeral Home and Crematory, with the Rev. Helen Morgan officiating. Entombment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. He was born Aug. 7, 1911, in Montgomery County, son of Norman E. and Mollie Mitchell Yates. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Larry Yates, and a daughter, Dorothy Faye Yates Cilk.

      Mr. Yates was a retired truck driver and served in the National Guard. He was a member of Martha's Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Nannie Beatrice Swift Yates, Cunningham; three brothers, Dudley Yates, Arkansas, Melvin Yates, Dickson, Norman Yates, Nashville; two sisters, Lorene Devandry and Louise Jones, both of Dickson; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

      Pallbearers will be Barry Jones, Charlie Yates, Scott Yates, Darrin Cilk, Kendale Cilk and Michael Cilk. Memorial contributions may be made to Martha's Chapel United Methodist Church, 572 Bumpus Lane, Clarksville TN 37052 or Hospice of Gateway, 1760 Madison St., Clarksville TN 37043.
