      Karen S. McCarthy, age 74, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville. She was born October 28, 1935 in Johnson, IN to the late Doris and Edna (Overton) Curl. Karen resided in Haubstadt the last 4 years moving from Jacksonville, FL. She retired as a bookkeeper from The Devine Co. in Jacksonville. Karen was a member of Fort Branch General Baptist Church. She loved reading and crossword puzzles. She was also an animal lover.

      Also preceding her in death were her husband, Donald on May 26, 2010 and 1 sister, Judy Mason. Karen is survived by one son, Mark of Jacksonville, FL; six sisters, Barbara Patterson of Olathe, KS, Joyce (Cleo) Schoultz of Fort Collins, CO, Jean King of Evansville, Janet (Larry) Georges and Penny (Shelby) Stevens, all of Fort Branch, and Nona (Chip) Shrode of Evansville; two brothers, Terry (Marsha) Curl of Fort Branch and Tony Curl of Evansville; 13 nieces, 9 nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 12 Noon to 2:00 PM Wednesday at Wade Funeral Home in Haubstadt with graveside services following at 2:45 PM in Park Lawn Cemetery in Evansville.
