Notes - (Source: summary posted on findagrave by Tim Naab 4/2011) James was the son of John and Clarissa Clark Bostic and husband of Margaret Wilson Carpenter Bostic (married Mar 9, 1865 in Jasper, IL). John and Margaret and two daughters: Ida L. Bostic and Sarah Ophie Bostic and three sons: William Bostic, Robert Allen Bostic and Victor Avery Bostic.
James was mustered in from New Liberty, IL on Dec. 31, 1861 and mustered out on Oct. 30 1864. He was a Civil War Veteran, Serving in Co. K,32 ILL Inf.; His Brothers: 1.) Ebenezer Bostick, died in action in the March to Nashville, Tenn. on Nov. 9, 1862. 2.) Linza A. Bostic Served to the end of the war, re-enlisting on Jan. 18, 1864, Mustered Out June 27, 1865. 3.) Richard Bostic served from Sept. 3, 1862 to June 27, 1865 4.) John T. Bostic served from August 1861 to Oct. 13, 1863 and was disharged due to being disabled at the Siege of Chattanooga.
