- John Laswell died in his easy chair at home at 822 Thoma Ave. in Springfield, Sangamon Co., Illinois. He was then rushed to Grandview Hospital in Springfield and pronounced dead by a Doctor. His Death Certificate says Grandview, Sangamon Co., Illinois. He had communion in his home a short time prior to his death and the Church visitors had left. Mildred Marie Gray Laswell his wife was in the kitchen cooking supper and heard a loud sigh and went in to check on her husband and said it was obvious he was dead and had died in piece. She called an ambulance and they took him to Grandview. This is what my mother Mildred Marie Gray Laswell told me when I arrived from my home in Alabama. Jack A. Laswell, Sr.

John Laswell, 79, of 822 Thomas Ave., a retired employee of the state of Illinois and carpenter contractor, died at 6:50 P.M. Sunday at his home. He was born at Richland, Mo., the son of Fountain T. and Nancy Jane Traw Laswell. His Parents, six brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Laswell was a member of West side Christian Church, Central Lodge No. 71 AF & AM, A.A.R.P. and was a Veteran of World War I. Surviving are his wife, Marie G.: two sons, Jack A. Sr, of Huntsville, Ala. And harlod W. of Mason, Mich.; Two sisters, Mrs. Anna Holland and Mrs. Elsie Perks, both of Springfield; one brother, George R. of Springfield and six grandchildren. Services will be at 1 P.M. Wednesday at Bisch memorial Home, Rev. James Haenig and Rev.
