He is buried in Sadler Cem FAG #28378497. Jesse P. Bryant performed the marriages for four of John Bloyd's children. Rev. Bryant was born Oct 3, 1820, and died May 6, 1886 in Texas. He married three times, the first time was to Mariah Young, sister of Jane Price Young. They were married September 27, 1842. Rev. Bryant's second wife was Louisa Sympson, who died in 1866. His third wife was Mary Margaret Ford. They were married on December 19, 1866. She was 19 and he was 46. He was a Baptist Minister. He moved his letter from the Mt. Bryant became postmaster at Mt. Sherman sometime after the Civil War. Rev. Bryant was robbed by some of the members of the Frank and Jesse James gang. Apparently, one of them came with his head tied up and pretended he had a toothache. He went up to Bryant's house and asked him to go to Bryant's general store to get some medicine. When the store was reached, he drew his gun and demanded the money. The robbery set a bad trend, for over the years, Mt. Sherman's postoffice or general store has often been the target of robbers. After the War, the people began to reorganize their lives. some people decided that they would go to the western states to rebuild. In the 1870's, Rev. Bryant went to Texas. The Mt. He served as pastor at South Fork Baptist Church from March 1872 to November of 1877. Jesse was also pastor for a short time at historic Brush Creek Baptist Church in Green County. In about 1867 Jesse became the merchant and postmaster of Old Mt. Sherman and remained in that position during the unsettled reconstruction Civil War years. In Nov. of 1877, he was granted a letter of dismission from South Fork. He and his family moved to Texas by covered wagon early in 1878. According to the author, Joe Chumbley, the wagon trip took 49 days. Rev. Jesse preached a sermon at the Kentucky Town Baptist Church in Texas on 9 March 1878.
