Photos are precious even if on paper so will share as soon as I can go get it copied to send to you. Some others want it as well. kathy Ron, The old photo is only a paper copy of a 5 generation photo that was put in the Mt Carmel paper so its too fragile at 57 years old... that I know of there is no photo in possession of Virginia Jo Nagy, Williams..as I have recently been to visit with her. She mentioned another photo that was taken which is the one I am talking about. She said it was her sister with her little girl, Cathy. Virigina said it wasn't till later that they adopted their daughter, Jeanine so did not get a picture with Grandmother Lizzie and her. I know my husband was thrilled that Virginia Jo let me copy the one she had to bring home to show him. It was a little photo and she had me take it to copy for her in a bigger photo, so I could also copy one for me too. Will send that one as well. He spoke of going every Sunday to Lancaster to see Grandma Lizzie and eating dinner with her when he was a boy.]

"Lizzie" had another sibling which you may not know about. If my records are correct, my 3rd gr grandmother was her oldest sibling. Her name was Charlotte Jane Wehl Dorney (19 May 1831, Berlin - 16 Feb 1916, Oklahoma City, OK. Please contact me directly on email, sdbrugges@aol.com if you would like further information about this branch of the Wehl family.
"Lottie" does not show up in the 1850 Census due to the fact that she married John Dorney in 1849. Four of her siblings were still living when she died, acc. to her obituary. I have enjoyed finding her siblings and parents very much! Thank you for the extensive posting on MyHeritage!! Sara L. Simpson, Bloomington, IL.

June 24, 2014 8:51 PM To: Ron Yates For my calculations since his death records showed he was nearly 80 yrs old that his birth was July 12th 1798. That gives you the 11 months and 5 days minus from 17 = 12th July 1798 as his birth date. and you can add his death date to your website as Jun 17th 1878. Dr Wm Friend M.D was the doctor who looked after him in his last moments. But of course back then they could do nothing for brain injuries. Must have hit his head pretty hard on rock or something to inflict such a trama. Burial site unclear but indicated L. C. Lanct. Precinct. on June 20, 1878. the Lanct also thought to be Lamont . but could not find a location for that. Please add this to your Yatesville site. thanks Kathy

July 08, 2014 2:57 PM To: Ron Yates Subject: Burial site found I just got off the phone to an elderly lady whose brother used to dig the graves in the old Lancaster cemetery. I never asked her whose he dug but she brought up that Howard Pixley, her brother, was digging up graves for burials and she said he found out that it was Henry Weyl's grave that was dug up..as he found bones in an old box or what was left of it. So I guess that is where I will put in for the site of Wm Henry Weil's burial site. I thought it strange that he would have been buried in Lawrence county when he lived right there in Lancaster. the old house is still standing where they lived. So must have been built of good quality popular. Thankful that she knew this and was talking about how old she was and I had to figure the dates to know she is soon to be 86. She served meals at a lot of the funerals in the area from a young girl, so she knew about many of the older folks that died...then Howard served as pall bearer to those who needed assistance. Merrel Strine is on many of the obits that I found in the Mundy homeplace which was torn down last fall. Glad I got to get them as it helped me with many of my husband's relatives to know who all were their siblings. So "Henry" born in Germany now has his abiding place located in Lancaster cemetery..the old one. at least as far as anyone knows this well could be his resting place. If any other Weyl is buried there it was Martha Weyl, a wife of one of the sons of Henry.

12/15/2015; Ron, I don't have good memory anymore but was thinking I had not told you that I found out that Henry William Weil/ Weyl is buried at same location as his wife Elizabeth Leipold/Weyl..in the Jordan Creek Cemetery. How I found this out was checking the death of his son Wm and found out it said Lancaster, L C cemetery.. Well Wm's registration in the court records gave the full spelling of L C..as Luthern Church Cemetery and since all Henry's had was L C this was hard to figure out location. I also learned that the church was a German speaking group. When the church lost their German speaking minister then they had to go back into Lancaster if they wanted to go to church. They had to learn to speak English. The other tidbit is that they bought land surrounding this Jordan cemetery which provided money for them to rebuild the church and provide for the upkeep of the cemetery. Still has some land that provides for the cemetery care today. It was just a small one as the cornerstones show this. Evidently they moved it to the gravel road, as was back then, which went out towards the Ernest Snitz farm. The road actually went by his 2 story home at one time and curved out to the road that now exists as hwy 11 Wanda York told me she remembered when the church was moved because they no longer had a group attending there..she thought it was for a school to be held there. Lightning struck a tree near by and caused the building to burn to the ground. My husband could describe where the old gravel roads ran in this area before they made it into more drivable conditions. He said there were so many curves in the road to Lancaster that his father would drive south to Mt Carmel because it wasn't so curvy. I know some of the old roads still have portions of them still visible today. Some have not grown trees up in them yet. I just thought it interesting to do the research to find out about this old Jordan Creek church and why it was closed. I could also tell you about the cemetery that has recently been restored that is just south of me. Perhaps you have heard of it. The Gupton-Carlyle cemetery which is just west of Dan Strine's farmhouse along hwy 11, but its location is along what used to be the gravel road that went by it in the early 1800's. so its off the main road and about a fourth mile from hwy 11..access to it is on what we call the Morgan road..and back a grassy lane. Recently it was cleaned up and stones set up again. A tornado hit here in 93 and laid the stones all to the east..except for one but it was leaning the same way. I was very happy to see this cemetery restored and now all we need to do is put up a sign to help descendants find it who come home to visit this cemetery. Kathy PS [Ron, According to the records in Wabash county court house Henry died from falling and hit his head..he was feeble the record said. He died after some time suffering with the head injury. It was not a quick death for him..as he hung on for hours.]
