    1 CHESLEY YATES born abt 1805 died 05/1850 married Sarah COLE Proven son of
    Alsey and Cynthia Beasley Yates. Wake Co NC marriage Bond Date: 01/11/1821
    Bond #000159542. Sara was the daughter of Shadrack Cole. Also called Charles.
    They migrated to Gibson Co TN after 1830 Chatham census and in time to be listed
    in the 1840 Gibson TN census page 217a; same page as brother Ruffin Yates. Sarah
    and children are listed in the 1850 Gibson TN census page 179b. In the 1860
    Federal Census Mortality index pg 248, for Gibson Co TN, Chesley is listed as
    Charles Yates born abt 1806 in NC died in May of 1850 at age 44 of intemperance
    in Gibson Co NC

    Based on Wake and Chatham Co deeds, William Yeats/Tapp purchased land from Absalon Harwood. This is most probable the same Absalon Harwood listed above. The William listed as "neighbor" to William Yeats in the 1790 census is probably the another son of Absalon or the son of Joseph (above). William is probably the father of the Harwood's that married Yates in Wake County NC."
